EARTH WEEL NATURE HIKE AT J0RDAN WINERY

April 21 @ 9:45 am - 2:00 pm

Explore Jordan’s vast 1,200-acre estate with a unique hiking adventure hosted in Sonoma County this spring. Your guided journey begins in Bacchus Courtyard where you’ll taste estate breakfast bites prepared by Executive Chef Jesse Mallgren and depart by foot on the three-mile hike on Jordan’s private trail, which begins and ends at the winery and traverses hills and valleys with an elevation change of about 300 feet. This moderate hike passes through the chef’s garden and apiary, meadows, sustainably farmed vineyards and Jordan’s olive orchards. During the moderately strenuous hike, you’ll learn about Jordan’s pollinator sanctuary plantings—open space that has been dedicated to creating habitat for vital pollinators, including the endangered Western monarch butterfly. You will then reach the highest hilltop, Vista Point where you’ll enjoy sweeping panoramic views of multiple wine regions and mountain ranges. For the first time, guests will then have the opportunity to plant their own pollinator plant in the dedicated butterfly sanctuary Vista Point before sitting at private tables for a light wine pairing lunch, featuring Tsar Nicoulai smoked sturgeon, Petaluma organic chicken, estate garden vegetables and seasonal dessert. Your pairing will include the 2021 Jordan Russian River Chardonnay and 2019 Jordan Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. After the seated food and wine experience, guests will be transported back down to the Winery Chateau by a private Jordan vehicle.

Hike tickets will go on sale on Thursday, March 7 at 9 a.m. Be sure to sign up for our mailing list to be the first to find out.

Three zero-waste hikes are being offered during Earth Week to honor our planet and celebrate its natural resources. Hikers will enjoy the fresh air and panoramic views while learning about the latest sustainable farming and land conservation efforts at Jordan. We are committed to hosting a zero-waste event in honor of Earth Week and kindly ask that all hikers bring their own water bottles to mitigate waste while on property as we will have refill stations available during the hike. All items will be recycled, reused or composted on-site.

For the first time, guests will have the opportunity to Plant A Pollinator at Vista Point and add to Jordan Winery’s pollinator sanctuaries that span nearly 10 acres across the estate.

Our chef can accommodate gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian and pescatarian diets. Please make arrangements at least seven days in advance. Any request to change the set menu on the day of the event will result in an all-vegetarian, gluten-free menu.
